Viking Remains
Concept
This project presents the archaeological uncovering of a Viking longhouse. Its purpose is to depict a modest yet richly detailed treasure cache, revealed unintentionally and subsequently excavated to expose the hidden remnants lying beneath the earth’s surface.
Mood Boards
Every good project needs a bit of inspiration from a real life object. Since there isn’t much in the way of viewing the real thing where I live, I decided to scour the web for a good source of references.
Sketches
The planning phase of this project involved developing multiple conceptual sketches. To accurately visualize the site in its ruined state, it was first necessary to understand its original, fully assembled form. The assets within the scene were explored through both distant, wide‑angle sketches and detailed close‑up studies.
